Gear
Gear is one of the deepest resource sinks in Top Heroes. There are two separate gear systems — Hero Gear (equipped directly on individual heroes) and Lord Gear (account-wide equipment that boosts your lord stats). Both require gold, resources, and materials to upgrade, and both have faction-specific recommendations that change the optimal path depending on your roster.
Hero Gear
Section titled “Hero Gear”Hero gear levels from 1 to 40. Every 5 levels after level 5 requires a promotion — an additional gold and resource cost on top of the regular upgrade. Promotions also unlock Exclusive Gear Levels starting at gear level 11, which require separate materials.

- Weapon — highest Attack, lowest Defense
- Armor — equal Attack and Defense (highest Defense)
- Boots — lowest Attack, high Defense
- Helmet, Ring, Amulet — balanced
If you can only afford to upgrade some pieces first, prioritise Weapon (for attack) or Armor (for survivability), depending on whether you’re focused on PvP damage or event durability.
