Gear

Gear is one of the deepest resource sinks in Top Heroes. There are two separate gear systems — Hero Gear (equipped directly on individual heroes) and Lord Gear (account-wide equipment that boosts your lord stats). Both require gold, resources, and materials to upgrade, and both have faction-specific recommendations that change the optimal path depending on your roster.

Hero gear levels from 1 to 40. Every 5 levels after level 5 requires a promotion — an additional gold and resource cost on top of the regular upgrade. Promotions also unlock Exclusive Gear Levels starting at gear level 11, which require separate materials.

With 5 core heroes per faction, that’s nearly 1 million gold and 5 million resources just for hero gear. Prioritise your main lineup and avoid spreading gear upgrades across heroes you’ll bench.

Each hero has a recommended gear set that synergises with their role. The two main sets are:

  • Titan’s Might — attack-focused; best for damage dealers and heroes whose skills scale with attack
  • Fury of Blood — HP and sustain focused; best for tanks and heroes who need survivability
  • Glory of the Knight — balanced; good for supporters and off-tanks

Lord gear is account-wide equipment with 6 slots: Helmet, Armor, Weapon, Boots, Ring, and Amulet. Each tier requires gold, resources, and Artifacts to craft. Lord gear provides flat Attack and Defense bonuses that apply across your entire account.

Each piece within a tier has different Attack/Defense distributions:

  • Weapon — highest Attack, lowest Defense
  • Armor — equal Attack and Defense (highest Defense)
  • Boots — lowest Attack, high Defense
  • Helmet, Ring, Amulet — balanced

If you can only afford to upgrade some pieces first, prioritise Weapon (for attack) or Armor (for survivability), depending on whether you’re focused on PvP damage or event durability.
