Nature Heroes
Nature’s core strategy is to endure long fights. The faction summons waves of minions as damage sponges, outsurvives the enemy, and then outscales their attack. Most shifts sustain the battle and stack buffs — making minions tougher so they soak more damage while boosting Forest Maiden and Monk shields (since they’re based on minion health). Nature has the latest mythic release timing but compensates with exceptional mid-to-late game scaling.
Nature counters Horde, while League counters Nature. If you’re a Horde main, Nature is the faction your opponents will use to counter you.

Hero Upgrade Priority
Section titled “Hero Upgrade Priority”Level and invest in these heroes in order. Earlier heroes take priority for XP books, ascension materials, and skill upgrades.
Upgrade Order
Tidecaller is Nature’s most important hero — arguably the best hero in the game. He is a massive gamekeeper and the primary counter to League shields. Altar Marshal and Forest Maiden follow as essential mid-game investments. Monk provides frontline tanking with shield abilities. Among legendaries, Pixie and Sage see the most endgame play.
Team Recommendations
Section titled “Team Recommendations”Growing Team (Legendary Start)
Section titled “Growing Team (Legendary Start)”Use this team before mythics arrive. Transition heroes out as mythics unlock.
Nature Starter
Druid stays until Altar Marshal releases in late Season 1. Sage gets replaced by mythic tanks as they arrive.
Full-Star Endgame Team
Section titled “Full-Star Endgame Team”This lineup provides two defensive bonds (15% damage reduction each) for a total of 30% damage reduction, which is essential to Nature’s survival strategy.
Nature Endgame
Tidecaller summons minions as damage sponges. Altar Marshal is a tank/DPS hybrid similar to Desert Prince but burstier. Before Petalis unlocks (Season 5), substitute Sage in her slot.
Mythic Release Timeline
Section titled “Mythic Release Timeline”Nature has the latest mythic timing — all three initial mythics arrive in Season 1 (~80 days), with Petalis much later in Season 5.
| Season | Hero | Replaces |
|---|---|---|
| Season 1 | Monk | Sage (front row) |
| Season 1 | Tidecaller | Windwalker |
| Season 1 | Altar Marshal | Treeguard |
| Season 5 | Petalis | Sage (final replacement) |
Nature players face a longer legendary phase than other factions. The three Season 1 mythics arrive together, creating a big power spike but requiring careful resource management to level all three efficiently.
Awakening Priority
Section titled “Awakening Priority”Nature’s legendary roster includes several heroes worth awakening since they stay in the lineup longer.
Awakening Order
-
Forest Maiden — Top priority. Her summons and control abilities scale strongly with awakening tiers, and she remains in the endgame lineup permanently.
-
Pixie — Second priority. Pixie’s burst damage and bond synergies (with Monk + Tidecaller, and with Treeguard + Forest Maiden) make her a high-value awakening target.
-
Sage — Third priority. Sage provides reliable frontline tanking in the starter team and remains useful until replaced by Petalis in Season 5.
Gear Recommendations
Section titled “Gear Recommendations”Nature needs survivability above all else — the faction wins by outlasting opponents, so most heroes stack HP with Fury of Blood.
| Hero | Gear Set | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Tidecaller | Glory of the Knight or Fury of Blood | Knight for more damage and skill amplification, Blood Fury if you want minions to have maximum HP |
| Altar Marshal | Fury of Blood | Tank/DPS hybrid — needs to survive and deal damage for as long as possible |
| Forest Maiden | Fury of Blood | Must survive to keep healing the team |
| Petalis | Fury of Blood | Extremely squishy until max-leveled and traded up — needs HP badly |
| Pixie | Glory of the Knight | Amplified skill damage to maximize her DPS role |
| Monk | Fury of Blood | Pure tank — HP is all that matters |
Unique Weapon Priority
Section titled “Unique Weapon Priority”Use 5 chests to unlock all UWs to +1 first (5 box required for every UW), then invest deeper in this order:
UW Upgrade Order
Tidecaller’s Divine Trident is the single highest priority — it’s the only reliable way to fight back against League shields. Since you need Rose Princess UW to activate the shield trigger, you can optionally grab Altar Marshal UW at a cheaper price first before committing to Tidecaller’s higher upgrade tiers (270 shards vs 295 for +10 to +9, 990 shards from +10 to +20).
Forest Maiden UW20 and Petalis UW20 both provide important team-wide boosts. Monk UW helps himself more than the team, but UW10 shield break is valuable against Horde.
Trait Priority
Section titled “Trait Priority”Frontline heroes benefit the most from traits, making them much tougher to kill.
| Priority | Trait | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | HP Drain | Sustain for frontline tanks (Monk, Altar Marshal) |
| 2 | Crit Resistance | Surviving burst from Horde and League opponents |
| 3 | Dmg Reduction (Skills) | Reducing incoming skill burst |
| 4 | Shift Buff Duration | Extending Nature’s stacking buff windows |
| 5 | Skill Damage | Backline DPS amplification |
Monk needs traits more than Tidecaller. Get Monk’s traits up first — Crit Resistance is especially important. Then focus on Tidecaller.
| Skin Type | Recommended | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| March skin | Unicorn (mythic) or Winter Sleigh | Unicorn gives nature soldier attack + HP. Winter Sleigh provides soldier HP boost |
| Troop skin | Tree Spear or Heavy Cavalry | Tree Spear for morale (good for most game modes). Heavy Cavalry for PvP march speed |
| F2P troop | Cavalry (rare) or Bear Skin | Cavalry for PvP march speed on a budget. Bear Skin for PvE damage |
Castle Skins
Section titled “Castle Skins”Nightfall Castle is the best Nature-specific castle skin — just owning it gives nature attack, HP, march size, soldier attack, and soldier HP. Shell Castle is the earlier option worth picking up on the way.
Pets & Relics
Section titled “Pets & Relics”Cactini is the primary Nature pet — promoting her boosts all Nature hero attack and HP percentage. She drops frequently from free-to-play options, making her easy to level. Cubbly is also available but drops much less often — focus on Cactini.
Relics
Section titled “Relics”CC is central to how Nature works — many relic choices revolve around crowd control effects.
Main queue set (Oath of the Sacred Forest): Vineborn Bow, Sacred Scroll, and Undefeated Crown. This is the long-term goal if Nature is your primary faction.
Free-to-play options (pick three):
- Frost Diadem — solid early unlock for F2P players
- Electric Frog — paralysis CC, important for Nature’s survival mechanism
- Moonstone — knockup CC on up to 4 targets when leveled, best if Nature is your primary faction
- Sacred Scroll — provides a shield plus valor with 30% shield break (not available F2P)
- Marshall’s Warhorn — increases hero attack speed by 10%, easy fallback option
Behemoths
Section titled “Behemoths”Nature has two faction-specific guardian behemoths:
| Behemoth | Type | Skill |
|---|---|---|
| Icy Phoenix | Defensive | Provides a shield to help tank early burst damage |
| T-Rex | Offensive | 500% damage skill, reduces opponent block |
Start with Icy Phoenix — the shield helps Nature survive the burst damage from Horde and League that would otherwise kill you before your scaling kicks in. Use T-Rex as your second guardian to hit the back line once your heroes have dealt with the enemy tanks. Focus on one behemoth until you unlock rank suppression, then go back and star up the other.
Strategy Notes
Section titled “Strategy Notes”-
Endurance is the win condition: Nature wins by outlasting opponents. Summon minions as damage sponges, survive the enemy burst, and then outscale their attack. The two defensive bonds providing 30% total damage reduction are core to this strategy.
-
Tidecaller carries: Tidecaller is Nature’s most important hero and should be leveled first. She carries the faction for a long time and is the primary counter to League shields. Prioritize her UW above all else.
-
Altar Marshal as tank/DPS: Altar Marshal plays like a burstier Desert Prince — he tanks and deals significant damage. Run Fury of Blood so he survives long enough to deal that damage.
-
Petalis is squishy: Petalis needs Fury of Blood gear for a long time because she’s extremely fragile until fully leveled and traded up. Don’t run damage gear on her until she can survive without it.
-
Sage placeholder: Before unlocking Petalis (Season 5), run Sage in her slot. Sage provides reliable support until the transition.
-
CC matters for Nature: Crowd control is central to Nature’s mechanism — paralysis, knockups, and stuns buy time for your scaling to kick in. Relic choices should reflect this (Electric Frog, Moonstone).
-
Icy Phoenix first: Start with the Icy Phoenix behemoth rather than T-Rex. The shield helps Nature survive the early burst from Horde and League before your minion army and scaling take over.
